Tina Ah Puck, Artist
Aloha,
I live on Maui, one of the most magical places on the planet. Between the creatures in the ocean and the legends woven into the mountain forests, I’m constantly inspired to ask, “What if?” and “What’s hidden just beneath the surface?”
I feel driven to capture the depth and spirit of Polynesian culture and folklore — and maybe help others see that there’s still real magic in the world when we slow down and look.
My journey didn’t start here. I grew up on a small farm in Michigan and had a lot of different jobs — photographer, welder, massage therapist. Then one day, I won a trip to Maui on a radio contest. I didn't know it at the time, but that trip would change everything. A year later, the island called me back — and I listened. On a bet, I picked up a paintbrush and began painting professionally. And I’ve never looked back.
Maui is now home. My family has deep roots in Lahaina, and every day I feel incredibly lucky and humbled to live and create here. I see my art as more than just images — it’s a way to help heal, to connect generations, to open conversations, and to give back to a community that has given me so much.
My work has been shown in galleries across Hawai‘i, but more than anything, I hope it offers a moment of stillness — a breath, a spark, a sense of peace and wonder.
Mahalo for being here, for supporting local artists, and for believing in the power of storytelling through art.
